The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Field Support Office in Plano, TX was excited to give over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.
“Last year, I had the chance to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They do so much more than just collect food – they are a critical part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent many of her childhood years wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to use the food they are given to create nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume aid along with financial and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet.
Since each family receives around 50 pounds of food to last them a month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.
“All the team members were so excited that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even took time to show us their incredible facility,” Wilson said.
